Public Money Donated to The Madeley and Whitmore Action Group Run by councillors in Madeley Staffs

D.M made this Freedom of Information request to Madeley Parish Council, Staffordshire Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Madeley Parish Council, Staffordshire,
I refer you to this email sent to myself about outstanding public money situated in a dormant account controlled by the then Chair and current Borough Councillor Gary White.
Questions:
1) Where is this public money?
2) Which bank account is it in?
3) Who has their name on this account to make withdrawals?

Good Evening Deborah,
I sent this email to Sharon and Gary on 1st July (See Below).Sharon responded by saying that she was not part of the group and that I should delete her from my contacts. Gary seems to have ignored it. I replied to Sharon by asking about who she has handed over the job of treasurer to and she has not replied. You can see from the attachments what the action group had in the bank. (£3,409.) I was on the bank mandate but I don’t know who is on it now. I have spoken To Mr John Dale and Mr Brian Vaughan who I know made donations to the group.
It seems that there has been no activity by the action group.

The last post was on the 14th Feb 2019, just as I started my legal action against Gary and Sharon. It received 1 like!
I will call you soon to discuss, because I feel that the group that Gary White says he is the Chairman of, cannot just sit on this money and it should use it to minimise the devastation that HS2 will cause to this area.

Speak soon.

Kind regards,

Frederick Smith

Dear Madeley Parish Council, Staffordshire,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Madeley Parish Council, Staffordshire's handling of my FOI request 'Public Money Donated to The Madeley and Whitmore Action Group Run by councillors in Madeley Staffs'.

It is beyond belief that Madeley Parish Council holds no records on the money raised and where it went given parish councillors were involved in the setting up and running of this group, with their names being on the bank details.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Yours faithfully,
Deborah Mallender
