Dear Freedom of Information Team,
Thank you very much for your response with information about public and patient involvement (PPI) activities within GIDS, which is very informative.
However, my request actually concerned your *adult* gender identity clinic (https://tavistockandportman.nhs.uk/servi...) rather than GIDS.
Please could you respond to my requests (copied again below) with respect to your *adult* GIC, or confirm that the material you've sent through already is the only relevant material held by the Trust, ie that the adult GIC does not carry out public involvement activities.
1. Copies of any public involvement policies relevant to The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust Gender Identity Clinic and/or Terms of Reference for any patient forums, advisory groups or similar run by the Clinic.
2. A list of any public involvement activities carried out by the Clinic or the Trust about the Cass Review.
3. Copies of any presentations or documentation used by the Clinic or the Trust for public involvement about the Cass Review.
4. Minutes or other records of the outcome of such public involvement about the Cass Review.
Thank you very much for your help,

Dear Jeni
Your notification that we have supplied information on the wrong
department (children and young people’s gender service GIDS) and that your
request was for information for the adults gender service (GIC) has been
handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). We apologise for
any misunderstanding on our part. Please find below our revised response:
Your original questions were as follows:
1. Copies of any public involvement policies relevant to The Tavistock
and Portman NHS Foundation Trust Gender Identity Clinic
a. and/or Terms of Reference for any patient forums, advisory groups or
similar run by the Clinic.
2. A list of any public involvement activities carried out by the Clinic
or the Trust about the Cass Review.
3. Copies of any presentations or documentation used by the Clinic or the
Trust for public involvement about the Cass Review.
4. Minutes or other records of the outcome of such public involvement
about the Cass Review.
The Trust’s revised response to the above questions is as follows:
Question 1:
The Trust does not have any policies on Public Involvement.
The Trust’s adults gender service (GIC) has not engaged in public
involvement activities.
Questions 2-5:
In your questions 2, 3, 4, 5 you asked about activities by the Trust or
GIC (the adult gender service), undertaken/provided in relation to the
Cass Review.
The Trust’s response is to confirm that it has undertaken a wide variety
of activities in relation to the publication of the Cass Review, - all
undertaken and centred on the children and young people’s gender service
GIDS, who are the subject of the Cass Review.
It is important to note here that the Cass Review was commissioned by NHS
England as an independent review of gender identity services for children
and young people and did not centre on adults gender services.
The Trust confirms that our GIC service did not specifically host any
public involvement type activities related to the Cass review.
Please note that information provided under FOIA relates to information
held by this Trust at the date on which the request was made.
We trust that you are satisfied with this response. If you are
dissatisfied then please write to us at [1][Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust request email] within
40 working days, quoting the reference details in the header of this
email, and explaining the reason for your dissatisfaction. The Trust would
then appoint a senior manager, not previously involved in this case, to
conduct an internal review of our original response and advise you of
their findings, within 20 working days, which would include either a
revised response, or a rationale for upholding the original response.

Dear Freedom of Information Team,
Thank you very much for your response with information about public and
patient involvement (PPI) activities within GIDS, which is very
informative.
However, my request actually concerned your *adult* gender identity clinic
([5]https://tavistockandportman.nhs.uk/servi...)
rather than GIDS.
Please could you respond to my requests (copied again below) with respect
to your *adult* GIC, or confirm that the material you've sent through
already is the only relevant material held by the Trust, ie that the adult
GIC does not carry out public involvement activities.
1. Copies of any public involvement policies relevant to The Tavistock and
Portman NHS Foundation Trust Gender Identity Clinic and/or Terms of
Reference for any patient forums, advisory groups or similar run by the
Clinic.
Thank you very much for your help,
Jeni Tennison
