Dear Mr Murray
Thank you for your email of 22 August 2018, in which you ask for the
number of fitness to practise investigations between 2016-2018 that have
been reported by a member of the public.
Your request has been handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).
Between 2016-2018 there have been 126 cases which were investigated for
misconduct and reported by a member of the public. This number includes
the cases which were received before 2016 but investigated (our standard
of acceptance was met) between 2016-2018.
Please note, the interpretation we’ve applied to the term ‘investigation’
is to identify only those cases that have met the standard of acceptance.
The standard of acceptance is the level a concern about a registrant must
meet before we will investigate it as a fitness to practise allegation.
