Puberty blocker and Medicines Act 1968
Dear Department of Health and Social Care,
On 23rd May, the Health Secretary said, “today, I want to set out my clear intention to introduce a banning order on puberty blockers, with limited exceptions, under section 62 of the Medicines Act 1968.”
Please provide a copy of the correspondence exchanged between you (or the Ministers) and the appropriate committee under section 62(3) of the Act regarding the ban. Additionally, please provide a list of such correspondence, including the subject line, date, and time.
Please provide a copy of the Minister's statement indicating their opinion the it is essential to make the order under section 62(3) of the Act with immediate effect to avoid serious danger to health. Additionally, please provide a copy of any supporting documents.
Please provide a copy of the list of organisations that you (or the Ministers) consider to be representative of interests likely to be substantially affected by the ban under section 129(6) of the Act.

We are writing to inform you that the Department's consideration of the
balance of the public interest with regards to your request is not yet
complete and requires further time to complete in line with Section 10(3)
of the FOI Act.
The Department is currently assessing the public interest in release under
Section 35.
We anticipate this process will take no longer than a further 20 working
