Dear Health and Care Professions Council,

I am making a request for all the information to which I am entitled to under the Freedom of Information Act, concerning:-

1. How many complaints have the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) received, concern psychologists registered with the HCPC, neglecting to uphold the HCPC Standards of conduct, performance and ethics?

Within the following years:-

a. 2014
b. 2015

2. It is understood from the HCPC public access website register, that Dr Luke Jones (HCPC registration - PYL06667) - Clinical psychologist, Location – Caerleon. Latest registration being the 1st June 2015 to the 1st June 2017.

a. When did Dr Luke Jones (HCPC registration - PYL06667) first register with the HCPC?

I understand that under the FOI Act, I should be entitled to a response within 20 working days. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Dear W Williams,

Thank you for your recent information request regarding psychologist
fitness to practise cases. Your request has been handled under the Freedom
of Information Act (FOIA) (2000).

 

The number of psychologists referred for ‘neglecting to uphold the HCPC
Standards of conduct, performance and ethics’ is available in the Fitness
to Practise Annual Report. I have provided a link below;

Psychologist PYL06667 was registered with the British Psychological
Society (BPS) and their registration transferred to the HCPC in 2009 when
the HCPC began the statutory regulation of practitioner psychologists. The
HCPC does not hold the initial date of registration with the BPS.
