Dear Mr Jones,

 

I refer to your recent request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. I can confirm that the Council does hold this
information, as detailed below.

 

Under the FOI Act please provide for the last 12 months, with regards
Public Space Protection Orders.

 

- an analysis of infringements recorded and fines levied, by council ward.

I can confirm that between the 1^st April 2020 – 31^st March 2021, a total
of 67 fixed penalty notices were issued for offences committed under the
Sunderland City Council Public Spaces Protection Order.

 

The fixed penalty notice offers the recipient the opportunity to discharge
liability to conviction for this offence by payment of a fixed penalty.
The fixed penalty amount is £75 and must be paid within 14 days, which
will be reduced to £50 if payment is made within 10 days of the notice.

 

Please note that the issuing of fixed penalty notices was suspended
between 01/04/2020 - 02/06/2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
