PSNI Ombudsman absolves herself of any responsibility
Dear Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman,
How can the PSNI Ombudsman consider this matter “outwith her legislative remit” when cases are brought before her within the relevant time frame?
Yours faithfully,
Tina Irving
Dear Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman,
"We have located records relating to five complaints having been made by you to the Police Ombudsman’s Office (the Office) between April 2019 and December 2021. Each of these complaints is recorded on our systems as having been ‘closed’, and there is no information about any ongoing matters as referred to in your email."
Please explain how this matter is "out of time". dated 27th January 2022, when the person was still incarcerated with no access to the internet.
Yours faithfully,
Tina Irving
Dear Ms Irving
RE: Internal review of Freedom of Information request - PSNI Ombudsman absolves herself of any responsibility
============================================================================================
Please confirm if this is a new Freedom of Information Request to NIPSO or as the subject line suggests a request for an internal review of a previous FOIA response to you.
If this is a request for an "Internal Review" of a response from NIPSO please provide the NIPSO Information Request (IR) reference that was sent to you with the information request response.
If this is a new request for information then you should confirm if this is a request regarding a complaint you made to NIPSO. If that is the case please provide any reference numbers you have regarding that complaint.
The text of your email appears to refer to the "Police Ombudsman's Office". This is a completely different organisation. If this is a request for information from the Police Ombudsman's Office, then you should write directly to that organisation.
Please ensure that your response is made to NIPSO Legal Services <[email address]>
No further action will take place regarding this matter until you have clarified this.

Kind regards
NIPSO Legal Services
Dear Ms Irving
Re IR-FOIA-20230029 - PSNI Ombudsman
You submitted the following text in an email from the website
‘whatdotheyknow.com’
“How can the PSNI Ombudsman consider this matter “outwith her legislative
remit” when cases are brought before her within the relevant time frame?”
I do not consider this a request for information which the Northern
Ireland Public Services Ombudsman holds any information in respect of.
The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) is a different
organisation than the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland (PONI). If you
have a question regarding the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland, I
would recommend that you write or communicate directly with that
organisation and they may be able to assist you.
The website of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland is:
[1]https://www.policeombudsman.org/
PONI appear to have a contact portal at:
