Dear Department for Energy Security and Net Zero,

I’ve spotted this publication:

and would like to know why the £33,896,743 subsidy to West of England Combined Authority wasn’t referred to the Subsidy Advice Unit.

After all, the award was conferred in July 2023 and the Social Housing Decarbonisation Wave 2.1 scheme was made in March 2023.

SHDF correspondence (Energy Security), Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

Dear Ginny Bennett,

 

Thank you for your enquiry on Tuesday 5^th September regarding the Social
Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

 

The SHDF was launched in September 2022, predating the enforcement of the
Subsidy Control Act. As outlined in Section 2.3 of our Scheme Guidance
(which can be found here-

the SHDF was launched and operates under the Trade and Cooperation
Agreement (TCA) and is considered a legacy scheme.
