Provost Grant's contract with UCL and related queries

The request was successful.

Dear University College London,

Firstly, I would like to know exactly when the Provost will be beginning his new job with the NHS commissioning board OR the date on which he started in this role.

Secondly, how will he divide his time between the two roles?

Thirdly, I would like to know if professor Grant will be employed by UCL under a new contract when he starts in the new role? Will his pay change? If so, by how much? Does prof Grant have a stipulated number of hours he must work per week?

Fourthly, I would like the most up-to-date record of professor Grant's expenses.

Fifthly, what is the time frame for professor Grant stepping down as UCL provost? When will his replacement be appointed? And what stage is the selection process currently at?

Please respond to this request as soon as possible. It's clear from the website "whatdotheyknow.com" that you've been failing to respond to recent FOIs within the legally stipulated time frame.

Yours faithfully,

O J Webb

Dear Mr Tomlinson,

You have not answered two of my questions.

On my first point, the link you have sent me gives no details of the date on which the Provost will take on this two-day-a-week role as NHS chair of the Commissioning Board. Please answer my initial question: exactly when will the Provost will be beginning his new job with the NHS commissioning board OR the date on which he started in this role.

On my fourth point, i asked for the most up-to-date records of Professor Grant's expenses, not specifically expenses for 2012-2013. Please send me professor Grant's expenses for the financial year April 2011 to April 2012.

Points two, three and five need no further clarification.

Thank you,

Faithfully,

Oscar Webb

Dear Tomkinson, Jon,

Thank you for Professor Grant's overseas business travel expenses. However, I requested all of Professor Grant's expenses. To use UCL's own terminology, I request to see a breakdown - in terms of what professor Grant charged UCL for and the amount - for the entirety of Prof Grant's 'Benefits' for financial year 2011-12, quoted on page 31 of the UCL Financial Report for financial year 2011-12 (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/finance/report_acco...). The total for these 'benefits' charged to UCL will total £16,664. To reiterate, i want the individual items prof Grant charged UCL and their individual costs under 'benefits', amounting to a total of £16,664.

Many thanks,

Oscar Webb

Dear Tomkinson, Jon,

Also, please supply Professor Grant's overseas business travel expenses paid for by the 'UCL Development Office'. I do not understand why these were not provided in your previous response.

Thanks again,

Oscar Webb
