Provision of toilet facilities within schools
How many schools have unisex toilets? In each case, can you provide details of the school, its age group and how many toilets are unisex?

The Council does not keep specific records on the format of school toilets. However we do know that there are a number of schools with unisex toilet provision. This is generally in the form of a combined facility that has separate toilet cubicle areas for girls and boys with a shared hand washing area for both. The schools we know of are;
Dorothy Stringer (age range 11 to 16)
Varndean (age range 11 to 16)
Longhill (age range 11 to 16)
Patcham (age range 11 to 16)
Brackenbury Primary School (age range 4+ to 11)
In addition to this St Nicolas C E Primary School (age range 4+ to 11) has some full height unisex cubicles as do the two secondary academies in the city (age range 11 to 18). It is also quite usual for Reception year toilets to be unisex. There may be other unisex toilet provision in the city but since we do not keep specific records we cannot provide this information.
