Protective clothing British Nuclear Tests

Waiting for an internal review by Ministry of Defence of their handling of this request.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

In your reply dated13January 2017 replying to FOIA2016/1261 dated 11December 2016 on the subject of protective gear for participants you provided a document of 3 pages WAPI's-- detailing the requirements for the First British Megaton Bomb of 15 May 1957.

In July 1958 following the research of the first megaton bomb, a further document was issued of 11 detailed pages.
Please advise:-

1. Do you have documents advising why the previous protective gear was considered inadequate--- if it was.
2. Please further advise the date that the word Research was omitted from AWRE to become AWE.
3. At what date was it considered no longer to be Research?

Thank you

Yours faithfully,

mary martin
