Dear Freedom Of Information,

I would like to remind you that you have broken the law by not responding to my freedom of information request within the 20 day statutory time limit.

Please supply the information that I have requested promptly before a formal complaint is made to the information commissioner.

I have included a link to the Sexual Offences Act 1985 - which details the kerb crawling offence - should you need any further guidance when compiling the data I have requested.

Freedom Of Information,

Dear R. Dewsbury

Thank you for your email of the 15th of May, in which you have stated
that the Norfolk Constabulary has committed a criminal offence, and that
it is your intention to make a complaint to the Office of the
Information Commissioner if we do not respond to your request promptly.

I would like to advise you that Section 10(1) of the Freedom of
Information Act states that "...a public authority must comply with
Section 1(1) promptly and in any event not later than the twentieth
working day following the date of receipt".

Section 10(6) of the FOI Act defines a working day as "...any day other
than a Saturday, a Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday or a day which is
a bank holiday under the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971"

On this basis, as we received your request on the 20th of April and
allowing for the bank holiday on the 4th of May, the 20th working day by
which we have a statutory obligation to respond to your request is the
19th of May (the first working day being the 21st of April).

On the 20th of April, my colleague sent a confirmation letter advising
that your request had been received and that the date by which we were
to provide you with a response was the 19th of May.

I would like to reassure you that we are in the process of dealing with
your request and that before receiving your email of the 15th of May I
was already intending to provide our response to you by the end of 15th,
or by Monday the 18th of May at the latest. This will mean that we will
be responding within the statutory deadline.

In closing, I would add that the Freedom of Information Department of
the Norfolk Constabulary is more than willing to offer any assistance
and guidance that we can in relation to Freedom of Information requests
and rather that sending us an email accusing us of committing criminal
acts and threatening us with complaints to the Information Commissioner,
you are more than welcome to contact us by telephone, letter or email to
enquire on the progress of your request and we will gladly offer any
guidance and assistance we can.

A response to your request will follow in due course.

Yours sincerely,
