Prosecutions for crimes involving the use of a drone in 2018

The request was successful.

Dear Crown Prosecution Service,

1) How many prosecutions took place in 2018 for the use of a drone to commit a criminal offence?
2) Of these prosecutions (assuming there were any), how many took place in West Yorkshire and how many took place within Bradford?

Yours faithfully,

I Hudson

Dear Information Management Unit,

The way this request has been dealt with, is inconsistent with requests for the same data previously. In 2017 the CPS did reveal that there were 2 drone prosecutions, that's in the public domain yet the individuals have not been identified which does suggest providing a vague count (less than 5) is both inconsistent when dealing with FOI requests and unnecessary. The prosecuting bodies in Northern Ireland and Scotland have both given exact counts.

Here was the 2017 request: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Could you escalate this for internal review if you feel it's necessary to withhold an exact figure? It is a matter of utmost public interest given 2018 events with Gatwick and the legislation that has been enacted within 2019.

Yours sincerely,

I Hudson
