Dear Sir or Madam,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency's handling of my FOI request 'Prosectution reports'.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/pr...

I am not satisfied with the judgement made in relation to the obligations under Data Protection Act reflects the correct balance between the public interest in disclosure and the obligation to maintain privacy of personal information.

I would draw the SFPA's attention to the fact that the Marine Fisheries Agency publishes 'Prosecution Reports' on its website and these contain a very detailed account of the outcome of prosecutions including the personal information that I am requesting from the SFPA. For example:

http://www.mfa.gov.uk/news/prosecutions/...

The DPA is a UK-wide legal framework that applies both to the MFA and the SFPA.

In the light of this I would request an internal review of the decision not to release to me this type of information about prosections by the SFPA.

Yours faithfully,

Jack Thurston

Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency
