Leo Glickman Porush

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please can I have the full guidance on necessary proof of childcare costs for UC?
Is it enough to have a simple bank statement showing amount paid or is it necessary to have invoice/receipt stating all details of the childcare provided?
When originally setting up a childcare claim it is necessary to provide a cover letter detailing the provider, childs name and hours of provision. Surely it isn't needed to ask for this every month.

Yours faithfully,
Leo Glickman Porush

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Thank you very much for your reply, it is clear you have taken the time to answer my question fully.

One question remains.

Must the invoice or evidence say the name of the child, and/or the DOB of the child, and/or the dates of the childcare?

I received a message from UC in my journal as follows:
Thank you for reporting your childcare costs. Unfortunately, we cannot accept the proof of payment you have provided as it does not show your child's details nor childcare dates. Please note these are the types of evidence we need to see to be able to verify childcare costs: •a bank statement together with an invoice covering the same period (including details of provider, the child’s details and dates of childcare) OR •a letter headed invoice dated and stamped as paid (including details of provider, the child’s details and dates of childcare) OR •a receipt stamped and dated (including details of provider, the child’s details and dates of childcare). Please resubmit your costs when you are able to provide the relevant invoice and proof of payment. Thanks

In your answers it doesn't mention anything about the childs details nor childcare dates.
I always submitted just a bank statement stating name of provider, sometime swith a basic invoice without any details.

Please advise.

Yours faithfully,

Leo Glickman Porush
