This request concerns performance data on Project Officers who investigate statutory complaints brought to the PHSO about other organisations.

1. Please provide the current number of Project Officers who investigate statutory complaints brought to the PHSO from other organisations.

2. For each quarter ending 30 June 2016 and 30 September 2016 respectively, please provide details of the number of complaints each Project Officer has investigated.

3. Provide a breakdown of the outcome of each officer's investigations - upheld, partially upheld and not upheld.

4. Provide details separately for Parliamentary complaints and for Health Service complaints.

I write in response to your information request of 16 November 2016 in
which you asked:

 

‘This request concerns performance data on Project Officers who

1.  Please provide the current number of Project Officers who investigate
statutory complaints brought to the PHSO from other organisations.

 

2.  For each quarter ending 30 June 2016 and 30 September 2016
respectively, please provide details of the number of complaints each
Project Officer has investigated.

Response

 

1. As at 22 November 2016, there were 35 Project Officers investigating
complaints brought to PHSO by both individual complainants and
organisations.

 

2-4. Please see the attached spreadsheet. As requested this provides
details of the number of complaints each Project Officer has investigated
at end of quarter 1 and quarter 2 (2016). It is broken down by outcome and
Parliamentary/ Health complaints.

Officer 31 stands out - 41 complaints dealt with and not one 'upheld'. A fair number of the officers appear not to be doing very much.
