Dear KSL Enquiries,

Thank you kindly for your response to my FOI.

I am writing to follow up/clarify. I follow the same numbering of issues as in the original FOI:

1. Please don't send me the application documents at this stage.
2. Could records of air monitoring for years 2014 - 2015 be shared please (as required by para 6.1.3 of 2002 permit)
3. Could you please let me know the volume of methane released from Brockham in years 2014-2015? Is this volume an estimate of actual measured output? If the latter, what is the measurement method?

Yours sincerely,

Ada Zaffina

Thank you for your email and follow-up questions, which we gave new
reference: KSL 108141. We respond to requests for information under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations

Please find attached the oil and gas ratio documents for 2014 and 2015 as
requested. The methane release volume is nill for both years, so I trust
that this satisfies your question without needing to address whether it is
an actual or estimated value and the measurement method.

Please refer to the [1]Open Government Licence which explains the
permitted use of the information provided.

If you have any further queries or if you’d like us to review the

Dear KSL Enquiries,

Thank you for your response. I would still like a clarification on how the numbers for gas are arrived at. I understand they are self reported by the operator but it is unclear whether they make any actual measurements of gas emissions. Could you please clarify?

Could you also clarify whether the EA has ever made any measurements of gas emissions at Brockham to verify the reported figures? If so, what was the method used?

I refer to the 2002 environmental permit (para 6.1.3) there is reference to air monitoring by the operator being required mentioned in my original request: are the oil to gas ratio annual documents the only reporting the EA has or are there any other reports to satisfy this permit requirement? The permit mentions estimated gas and H2S emissions based on weekly quality reports; Does the EA have sight of these weekly reports? Is there any reporting available on H2S emissions in 2014-15 or is this assumed '0' because the reported gas emissions are '0'?

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,

Ada Zaffina

Dear KSL Enquiries,

Thank you very much for you're reply.

I have asked whether the EA has ever made any measurements of gas emissions at Brockham to verify the reported figures?, and if so, what was the method that was used. Your reply only concerns period 2014-15, but the site has been there since 1987. Could you clarify whether any measurements were made by the EA prior to the period 2014-15?

Yours sincerely,

Ada Zaffina
