Procurement procedures - £66million programme to purchase zero and low emission buses

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Infrastructure (Northern Ireland),

Minister Mallon recently announced a £66million programme to purchase zero and low emission buses. The press release describes a 'new contract'. The programme will include buses supplied by local firm Wrightbus and associated infrastructure. I would like the Department to supply some basic information relating to the £66million spend.

i) Details of the procurement process followed in relation to the £66million spend announced.

ii) Whether the £66million budget is to come from Department for Infrastructure funds, Translink funds or a combination of both. (Please note - if combination please provide percentage split)

iii) A list of all companies supplying new vehicles within the announced £66million spend.

iv) steps taken to ensure £66million budget represents 'best value for money'.

Yours faithfully,

Tony Woodford
