Procedure for action against staff failing to log sanctions properly

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

First, thanks for your response {FOI2020/12068} which makes it clear staff SHOULD be informing claimants WHEN they are sanctioned AND WHY they are sanctioned. Clearly in some cases claimants are not being informed of either and the first they know about it is when there is no money in their account.

New request: If they exist, please provide a copy of your current procedures for action that may be taken against staff who fail to: log a sanction and/or include a reason for being sanctioned using procedures outlined in your response FOI2020/12068.

In such matters, we would expect additional staff training followed by disciplinary action for repeatedly breaking rules as set out.

Yours faithfully,

Amanda Hart
