Privatisation of Brent Parks Service

Martin Francis made this Freedom of Information request to Brent Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by Brent Borough Council.

Dear Brent Borough Council,

I am making this request under the Freedom of Information Act as the Council's Press Office refused to answer my question and both the Parks Service and Cllr James Powney, lead member responsible, have not answered my subsequent e-mails. The Press Office said that my question should be directed to the Parks Service and Cllr Powney.

Please provide any reports, memos or e-mails regarding the possible privatisation, or part-privatisation of Brent Parks Service, and any such documentation on possible, full or partial, conversion of the Service to a social enterprise.

Yours faithfully,

Martin Francis

Cllr Powney, lead member for Environment has replied to my question asking if privatisation, or part-privatisation of Brent Parks Service is being considered, as follows:

Ground maintenance, including parks, is subject to a review which has yet to report. The results of the review are likely to be published in the first part of next year.

I would ask for an internal review - the public interest test is a cut and paste job, totally generic.
