Private sector discharges and ethnicity

The request was successful.

Dear Brent Borough Council,

In a previous FOI you said Brent Council gave 12 households a private rented sector offer in Telford in the last year to discharge your full housing duty (under Section 193 7AA-7AC of the 1996 Housing Act as amended by s.148 (5)-(7) Localism Act 2011).

1) Could I please be told the ethnicity breakdown of these households?

2) Also out off these 12 offers in Telford, how many different addresses were offered? (ie. was each private rented sector offer for a different address each time? or were 3 different addresses offered across the 12 offers?)

3) Also out off these 12 offers in Telford, how many different landlords were there across the offered properties?

4a) How many of these properties that were offered for private sector discharge in Telford were inspected by an employee of the council? What were the dates of these inspections?
4b) If the properties were not inspected by a council employee, which organisation/company was hired to inspect the property? What was the cost of this?

5) How many of the 12 households visited the property before rejecting it?

6) Could I please have a copy of the letters sent to the households explaining the offer, the consequencies etc? Obviously all identifying details should be removed, but there should be details such as dates and moving expenses provided for the council etc.

Yours faithfully,

Elizabeth Wyatt
