Freedom of Information Request, Oxford City Council – Reference: FOI11948

We can confirm that Oxford City Council can advise as follows in response to your Freedom of
Information Request:

- Prevent/Channel Privacy Notice

We don't run Prevent or Channel - it is a Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire County Council
safeguarding function.  We use established safeguarding processes to make referrals.

- Information Management Strategy

As above.

- Data Protection Impact Assessment/Privacy Impact Assessment

We don't have record of a DPIA being done for Prevent as it was not a new project in its own right,
the obligations fall under safeguarding which we already had a duty for prior to 2018 when GDPR
mandated the creation of DPIAs for new data processing.

- Equality Impact Assessment

This is Oxfordshire County Council responsibility in terms of making safeguarding referrals through
the established MASH (Multiagency Safeguarding Hub) system or a Prevent team responsibility.

xxx@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx

- Data Sharing Agreement(s) or similar

OSAB (Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board), OSCB (Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board)
and JSNA (Joint Strategic Needs Assessment) websites have the information sharing protocols for
safeguarding and community safety in Oxfordshire.  Channel has its own agreement that
Oxfordshire County Council have responsibility for.

- Any Memorandum of Understanding with the Home Office.

There is no general MOU with the Home Office.  As above, we do not manage the Prevent or Channel
programme.

If you disagree with any part of the response to your request, you are entitled to ask the Council for an
internal review of the decision(s) made.  You may do this by writing to the Monitoring Officer, by either
email – xxxxx@xxxxxx.xxx.xx – or by post to Monitoring Officer, Oxford City Council, St Aldate’s
Chambers, St Aldate’s, Oxford, OX1 1DS.  After the result of the internal review, if you remain
dissatisfied, you may ask the Information Commissioner to intervene on your behalf.  You may do this
by writing to the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely,

Freedom of Information Officer
