Private housing deposits

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request is waiting for clarification. If you are Georgina, please sign in to send a follow up message.

Dear Cheshire West & Chester Council,

Me and my partner have been searching for privately rented accomodation. So far we have found a couple that are suitable (very difficult considering many landlords won't accept housing benifits and that we have a staffordshire bull terrier) but all these privately rented homes require deposits. Is this something provided by the council or do we have to fill the gap ourselves?
And will any landlords view our situation any differently if we explain our situation to them?
We are also applying for council housing every thursday, but we are not relying on it as we understand the length of the waiting list.
I am a full time student, I am hoping to be able to get a job next year after my three year course on Zoo management, and my partner is currently recieving employment support allowance since he fell very underweight once he lost his job last year and his family kicked him out after many weeks of no rent.
Please contact us back, any information would be very welcome thankyou

Yours sincerely,

Georgina
