Prion transmission in washer disinfectors

Dear Department of Health,
IN new regulations for cross infection control the dental profession is being advised to invest in washer disinfectors. Could you please supply your evidence that these aid in the prevention of spread of infection and also show what evidence you have that prion transmission is prevented by such WD's??
