Printing Levels

The request was successful.

Dear University of Reading,

I am interested in the volume of printing at the University of Reading.

For the 2017/2018 academic year to-date, and the equivalent period in the 2016/2017 academic year, how many sides of A4 (or equivalent) were printed at the University? If possible, I would like this broken down by school / service.

Yours faithfully,

Mr B Howe

IMPS, University of Reading

Dear University of Reading,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of University of Reading's handling of my FOI request 'Printing Levels'.

I do not accept that it would take more than 18 hours to run a report on printing levels for the current University financial year, especially given printing (and billing for printing) has been outsourced to Konica Minolta (https://www.reading.ac.uk/internal/its/h...).

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Yours faithfully,

Mr B Howe

IMPS, University of Reading

We will respond to you as soon as possible, but in any case, no later than 40 working days from 30/10/2017.

Kind regards,

Sinead Latham

Dear Rebecca,

Thank you for your reply. The data makes interesting reading, and is of great value to me.

I note that the time period for the data you supplied (August and September 2017) only includes one teaching week . Would it be possible to send the data for October 2017 as well? If required, I am happy to submit a new and separate FoI request.

Yours sincerely,

Mr B Howe

Dear Rebecca,

Thank you for your reply.

What is the difference between row 92 ("Mathematics and Statistics") and row 126 ("School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences")? To the untrained eye these appear to be duplicate rows, although they contain different data!

Yours sincerely,

Mr B Howe

IMPS, University of Reading

Dear Mr Howe

Thank you for your email.

We can advise that there is a cost centre for the central school activity which is detailed as row 126 School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and a cost centre for the department detailed in row 92 Mathematics and Statistics which is the department of Mathematics and Statistics only. The department sits within the aforementioned school.

You may find the following link helpful in explaining the school and department structure.
