Dear Newham Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Newham Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Preventing Violent Extremism' spending in 2010-11'.

The request I submitted was for a detailed breakdown of the council's PVE spending, not an overview. The Freedom of Information Act makes clear that people requesting information have a right to all the relevant recorded information a public body has and yet in this instance, the barest minimum information has been given despite the fact that the request was very specific. There is no reason, for example, why expenditure on PVE supported projects has been lumped together into one line, marked 'cohesion events/projects' as this sheds little light on how the money was actually spent.

As more than 12 months have passed since the spending period in question, I fail to see why it is so difficult to provide the detailed breakdown I asked for.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/pr...

Yours faithfully,

Kevin Blowe
