Thank you for your request for information, which was received on

You requested: I understand the department issued new guidance on making
referrals under the Prevent Duty this month in October 2023. I would like
to request a copy of the guidance issued to relevant establishments,
including schools, academies, colleges and universities, under the Freedom
of Information Act 2005.
I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(“the Act”).
We believe your request refers to messaging that the department issued to
the education sector in response to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
A copy of part of the information you have requested is enclosed. This is
a letter written by the Secretary of State for Education and the Minister
for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education to the HE sector.
With regards to the remaining information that you have requested, the
department holds the information, but it is being withheld because the
following exemption applies to this information:
Section 21 of the FOI Act – Information accessible to applicant by other
means
Under section 21 of the Act, the department is not required to provide
information in response to a request if it is already reasonably
accessible to you.
