Central Foundation Girls – FOI Request:
1: A copy of your Prevent policy – attached. Have yellowed Prevent
information
2: Data on referrals, including: the number of referrals, by year; age;
sex; and reason; and whether that referral was passed from your school
safeguarding officer (or equivalent) to the local Prevent officer (or
equivalent) OR your own dataset on this matter, preferably in excel format
– we have referred no students to the borough for Prevent issues. However,
in the last 5 years CSC have informed us 7 of our students who are either
living in homes of persons known to the authorities for Prevent concerns
or were connected with persons of concern by casual association. 5 of
these students were good students who presented no Prevent issues at
school but were monitored/supported every 7 weeks by our internal
multiagency support panel and the other 2 students were 6^th Formers who
just happened to be on the list of contacts on a cell phone of an
individual who was not a student of ours who was a Prevent concern. After
investigation by external agencies these two 6^th Formers were found to
have no Prevent concerns and just casually acquainted with the person of
concern.
3: Any data on training undertaken by staff for Prevent – all staff given
annual Prevent training as part of our CP training and provided with
Prevent Duty 2015 document which they have to sign to say they have
red/understood/and can apply. Governors updated on school’s Prevent
curriculum/training regularly. Last update: 13.05.19
4: Any Prevent related projects undertaken by staff or students for
Prevent – all Year groups have an annual Safeguarding assembly at the
start of the year which specifically addresses Prevent issues; there is a
specific Year 9 Scheme Of Work which addresses many contentious issues in
British society eg. Homosexuality/Abortion/Religion etc. and explores
British Values which is on the government’s stophate website as an eg. of
good practice; Year 7s/8s/9s have already had the BRAVE workshops which
spends 40 minutes discussing Prevent issues of
extremism/grooming/consequences/British Values. Years 10/11/12/13 are
currently being scheduled to receive the same workshop this term. We also
have a diversity working party which celebrates diversity in the UK eg
LGBTQ month/Black History Month etc. to promote tolerance/respect agenda
5: Any minutes of meetings regarding the implementation of Prevent at your
school: Attached recent Audit of Prevent at CFGS13.05.19 which was
presented to SLT/Governors and will give you a recent view of CFGS’s
Prevent focus/actions etc. This is updated annually.
6: Any correspondence regarding complaints about Prevent: To date school
has received no complaints of a Prevent nature
Kind regards,
