Please provide information relating to preserved and/or protected
salaries for all departments and posts in the local authority.
Specifically,

a) the total number of posts receiving protected and/or preserved
salaries in 2009-10
b) whether or not the total number of posts has increased or
reduced in 2010-11 and by how many
c) the total annual cost of those salaries in 2009-10
d) whether or not the annual cost has increased or reduced in
2010-11 and by how much

Dear K Higgins,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information enquiry, dated the 21st of
February 2011, below. I can confirm that the Council are compiling the
response to your request, however, I have been asked if to obtain
clarification on the the information you have requested. Specifically can
you advise me of the following.

1. Does the request include info on salary arrangements for teachers?
2. Teachers' Terms and Conditions do not refer to 'preserved' or
'protected' salaries. Is this the same as 'conserved' salaries - the term
which is used in teachers' terms and conditions?
