Preparation of the COVID-19 Response: Living with COVID-19 by HMG and failing to address available prophylaxis treatments
Dear Department of Health and Social Care,
On 21 February 2022 HMG published the “COVID-19 Response: Living with COVID-19, The government’s plan for removing the remaining legal restrictions while protecting people most vulnerable to COVID-19 and maintaining resilience”
Please provide me with any papers prepared and advice provided on the use of prophylaxis treatments (excluding vaccines) that were considered by HMG (including any briefing paper prepared for the Secretary of State for Health and subsequent COVID-O papers prepared to produce this pubication) when preparing this plan. Please exclude any commercially sensitive costings.
My interest is to understand why the use of prophylaxis for the people most vulnerable to COVID-19 was excluded from the final plan when it was being used successfully by other developed countries to protect their people who were most vulnerable to COVID-19.
Yours faithfully,
Louise Bicknell
