Predetermined attendance for Ineos Grangemouth
Dear Scottish Fire and Rescue Service,
I am of the understanding the predetermined attendance for a request for assistance from the Ineos Petrochemical Complex at Grangemouth is currently only 3 pumping appliances.
Can I ask why the decision to change this was made? I believe the previous PDA was 11 appliances or thereabouts.
The last time I'm aware the PDA was 3 pumps was at the time of the major incident at the Hydrocracker in 1987 which almost resulted in disastrous consequences. Within minutes of arrival the officer in charge made pumps 8 then 10 then a short time later make pumps 12 including numerous specials.
Given the unique nature of the risks at Grangemouth is 3 pumps an appropriate response?
I look forward to your reply
Yours faithfully,
Jamie Reynolds

Dear Scottish Fire and Rescue Service,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's handling of my FOI request 'Predetermined attendance for Ineos Grangemouth'.
I requested the above information on the 5th Of March 2023. I haven't received a response within the 20 days as required by law. I contacted yourselves on the 8th of April requesting an update and still haven't received a reply. I find this completely unacceptable from a public organisation that has a legal obligation to reply to freedom of information requests.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...
Yours faithfully,
Jamie

Dear Hamill, Catrina,
Hi thanks for your reply.
My dissatisfaction is the fact you are required by law to respond within 20 working days. This response has taken 46 working days. Also my messages requesting updates were continually ignored,
Yours sincerely,
Jamie
