Dear DWP Strategy Freedom of Information,
Ok, it seems I have to re-phrase this request in plain English.
(1)Can you tell me if the Power of Attorney consent is attached to
any/all social security accounts, by yourselves, the DWP,(refer to footnote) and if so
(2)Relating to question 1,can you confirm,or deny that the Power of Attorney aspect is not
and never was necessary to the performance of the contract between
the parties to the social security account and
(3)Relating to question 1,what affect the withdrawing of said Power of Attorney would have
on any claim.
(Footnote)
Re: Question (1)
In plain speak, when any claimant/s makes a DWP claim, for benefit payment/s, of any type, Does the claimant/s give any/all power of attorney, automatically, consented,or otherwise to the DWP.
And so there is no doubt on my question, If I walked in to DWP and made a claim, say for unemployment/disability benefits, do I, as a "sane" person hand over any/all Power of Attorney, to you, the DWP, on making said claim.

Yours sincerely,

elwyn

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Work and Pensions's handling of my FOI request 'Power of Attorney'.

The questions were misunderstood by whomever replied to the request in the first instance.
The questions were then re sent in a more precise manner, but failed to get any reply.
Could you review and reply to the re-worded questions please.
Thank you.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

Yours faithfully,

elwyn

Dear Elwyn

On 1 March 2016 you submitted a FOI request 799 (attached). The deadline
for this request is 29 March 2016.

Subsequently, on 17 March 2016 you requested an Internal Review (below) on
the basis that your request 799 ' failed to get any reply'.

As the deadline of 29 March 2016 has not yet been reached for FoI 799,
could you please advise whether you would like to proceed with your
Internal Review request or, alternatively, withdraw it?

Awaiting your confirmation.

Thank you

DWP Strategy FoI Team

Dear DWP Strategy Freedom of Information,

I have not yet had an acknowledgement to my re worded questions, so I am presuming it has not yet been received or forwarded to the relevant department. I also assume the final date for a reply 29 march, means a reply to the FOI request itself and not the time limit for acknowledgement.
If the FoI has been forwarded and is "in process" then the Internal review need not take place and I will wait on the 29th march. If however the second, re worded questions are not in process, then an internal review is still requested.

Yours sincerely, and regards

elwyn
