Dear Chloe Ostrolenk,

I refer to your recent request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. I can confirm that the Council does hold this
information, as detailed below.

I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of
Information act:

 1. The total number of potholes and/or road defects reported in your
local area, broken down by month for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 to
date.

2019 = 766

2020 = 546

2021 = 318

 2. The total number of potholes and/or road defects fixed by the council,
broken down by month for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 to date.

2019 2020 2021
January 544 928 1231
February 649 613 1493
March 669 738 1177
April 774 807 844
May 763 538 912
June 685 518 827
July 706 531 848
August 544 443 491
September 633 520 0
October 521 312 0
November 791 966 0
December 668 789 0
7947 7703 7823

 3. The amount of money spent by the council on fixing potholes and/or
road defects broken down by year, for 2019, 2020 and 2021 (calendar
years if possible, please).

The following information provided is in financial years rather than
calendar years.

2018/19 - £364,841

2019/20 - £301,275

2020/2021 - £297,526

2021/ date - £138,469

 4. The total amount of money paid out in compensation due to potholes
and/or road defects, broken down by year for 2019, 2020, 2021
(calendar years if possible, please).

2019 = £7589

2020 = £10,985

2021 (as at 31.8.21) = £2775.53

 5. And if possible, please can you give an indication of the amount of
time taken to fix a single pothole (from starting work on the fix to
the road being open again)?

Time taken depends on various factors, including size of pothole, number
of potholes to be repaired, location of pothole, what type of road, i.e.
single or dual carriageway, classified or unclassified, is it a high-speed
road, does it need full traffic management etc.  These all impact on time
so it could be anything from 5 minutes on a housing estate road to 1hr+ on
a busy roundabout requiring full traffic management on approach roads for
example.
