Dear Hull City Council,
1) How many claims has the Council received from motorists in the last 12 months (to most recent available) because of damage caused by potholes?
2) How many of these claims were successful?
3) What is the total amount that has been paid out as a result of the successful claims?
Yours faithfully,
Martin Cutler

link above.
Freedom of Information Act Requests
This covers general recorded information that is held by the Council.
Examples: budget information, staff structures, details of contracts etc
From the next working day that the request is received we have 20 working
days to respond. This does not take in to account any clarification we
may require or if we need to consider the Public Interest Test which
allows us up to a maximum of 20 additional working days.
Environmental Information Regulation Requests
This covers all environmental information held by the Council.
Examples: Planning Applications, details of proposed road works, flood
information, pollution information etc.

Section 7 of the Data Protection Act (Subject Access Requests)
This section of the DP legislation only relates to requests for
information about the requestor or a client if you are acting on their
behalf.
Examples: Personnel file, Housing file, Council Tax/Housing Benefit
information etc.
We normally have to respond to your request within one month; however, if
you have made a number of requests or your request is complex, we may need
extra time to consider it. The legislation states we can take up to an
extra two months (90 days in total) to respond and if this is the case, we
will let you know within one month that we need more time and why.
