You have requested the following information under the provisions of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000:
1) How many claims has the Council received from motorists in the last 12
months (to most recent available) because of damage caused by potholes?
2) How many of these claims were successful?
3) What is the total amount that has been paid out as a result of the
successful claims?
Our response is as follows:
Response from the Insurance Team.
I have searched our Claims Database and respond as follows:
Q1 = 70 claims received
Q2 = 13 successful claims
Q3 = £4,806.38 is total sum paid
Please note this data relates only to claims reported to the Insurance
Team.
On the Reading Borough Council Website there is a publication scheme where
you can [1]search previous Freedom of Information requests that have been
responded to, to locate an answer to a future FOI request.
