Dear Anastasiia Suenkova,

Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the
Act”)

Further to your recent request for information held by King’s College
London, I am writing to confirm that the requested information is held by
the university.

Your request

We received your information request on 25^th May 2024 and have treated it
as a request for information made under section 1(1) of the Act.

You requested the following information:

Under the Freedom of Information act, I would like to know for every
postgraduate programme (both taught and research) for the 2023/24 and
2022/23 admission cycles:

- the programme name,

- the programme code,

- the number of applications,

- the number of offers made,

- the number of acceptances,

- the number of enrolments.

Our response

The attached appendix provides details relevant to your request.

Your request is for detailed individual level data. We consider that
disclosure of this information in the exact form requested might enable
those with access to other information or knowledge to identify
individuals and learn new information about those individuals e.g. those
on the same course or at the same university. Disclosure of this
information would contravene article 5(1) of the UK GDPR which requires
personal data to be ‘processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent
manner in relation to the data subject’. The rights of the individual, and
the possible consequences of disclosure, make disclosure both unfair and
unlawful. This information has therefore been withheld under s. 40(2).

For this reason, we have taken measures to reduce the risk of
identification, in this case where the number of students is five or fewer
the University has replaced the figure with ‘equal to or less than five’
(˜5).

This completes the university’s response to your information request.

Your right to complain

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
information request or feel that it has not been properly handled you have
the right to complain or request a review of our decision by contacting
the Director of Information Governance & Data Protection Officer within 60
days of the date of this letter.

Further information about our internal complaints procedure is available
at the link below:

In the event that you are not content with the outcome of your complaint
you may apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally,
the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you have
exhausted the internal complaints procedure provided by King’s College
London.

The Information Commissioner can be contacted at the following address:
