Please could you supply me with the number of persons who are registered to vote by post
and are eligible for voting in local elections for London or local mayor or councillors in your borough?.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 (FOIA) - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

The City of London (CoL) acknowledges receipt of your request for information of 14 May 2024.

Public authorities are required to respond to requests within the statutory timescale of 20 working days beginning from the first working day after they receive a request. The Act does not always require public authorities to disclose the information which they hold.

The FOIA applies to the CoL as a local authority, police authority and port health authority. The CoL is the local and police authority for the "Square Mile", ie the historic City of London, and not for London as a whole. Please could you supply me with the number of persons who are registered to vote by post and are eligible for voting in local elections for London or local mayor or councillors in your borough?.

The CoL can confirm that we currently have 2,284 postal voters on the Electoral register eligible to vote in local elections.

Of those registered for postal votes, please could you say how many are a citizens of another country other than in the British Isles?

The CoL can confirm that of the 2284 postal voters we have, 330 are not registered as UK citizens.
