Hi Mr Singh
Please find attached the information as requested.
Regarding post-operative instructions for day surgery patients:
1. Do you have a leaflet with instructions for patients? If yes
could you please send by email? See attachment
2. When can patients return to work after inguinal hernia surgery?
Depends on the job, usually 2 weeks after but if in a job that requires
heavy lifting that could be up to 6 weeks before returning to work.
3. When can patients return to driving after inguinal hernia
surgery?
Not for 24 hours after general anaesthetic and only when able to make an
emergency stop without any pain or discomfort.
4. When can patients return to work after varicose vein surgery?
2 weeks after surgery usually
5. When can patients return to driving after varicose vein surgery?
Not for 24 hours after general anaesthetic and only when able to make an
emergency stop without any pain or discomfort.
6. When can patients return to work after haemorroidectomy surgery?
2 weeks after surgery usually but does depend on how comfortable the
patient is and how bad they were and also what job the person does
7. When can patients return to driving after haemorrhoidectomy
surgery?
Not for 24 hours after general anaesthetic and only when able to make an
emergency stop without any pain or discomfort.
A general rule is that that not one instruction fits all as it depends on
what job the person does and how big or small their surgery was.
Kind regards
Bex
