Dear Post Office Limited,

Just over a year ago you supplied me with a list of Post Office branches and their opening hours, in response to an FOIA and RoPSIR request that I made. I would now like to ask for an updated version of this data-set and permission to re-use it under the terms of the Open Government Licence v3. The purposes of the re-use are (a) to help improve the representation of Post Offices in OpenStreetMap and (b) to make the data available to others under an open licence.

The data you previously released can be found at https://osm.mathmos.net/postoffice/data/ . As far as possible I would like the updated data in the same format. Specifically this is a CSV file containing one row per opening hours entry (so each branch occupies several lines), with the following fields: LOCATION_OU_CODE, BRANCH TYPE, LOCATION_NAME, TRADING_SUB_STATUS_NAME, LOCATION_ADDRESS_LINE_1, LOCATION_ADDRESS_LINE_2, LOCATION_ADDRESS_LINE_3, LOCATION_ADDRESS_LINE_4, LOCATION_ADDRESS_LINE_5, LOCATION_POSTCODE, BRANCH_LONGITUDE, BRANCH_LATITUDE, WEEKDAY_NAME, AM_TIME_FROM, AM_TIME_TO, PM_TIME_FROM, PM_TIME_TO. I believe that both "open" and "temporarily closed" branches were included in the dataset.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Whittaker

PS: Comparing the data you supplied last year with mapping in OpenStreetMap, I have compiled a list of branches where your location coordinates may be inaccurate: https://osm.mathmos.net/postoffice/dista... . Your dataset manager may be interested in having a look at this to see if any of those branches need their locations correcting.

Dear Post Office Limited,

Many thanks for providing the requested information. You will notice that my request at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p... also asked for permission to re-use the information under the Open Government Licence v3, but I can't find any reference to this in your response. Could you please confirm that you are happy for me to re-use the supplied information under this licence?

Yours faithfully,

Robert Whittaker

Dear Post Office Limited,

Could I draw your attention to my message to you of 9th April, which can be found online at https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p... . This message requested a response to my request of 11th March for permission to re-use the Branch information you've supplied under the terms of the Open Government License 3.0.

Under Regulation 8 of the Re-Use of Public Sector Information Regulations (2015), you are required to respond to such a re-use request within 20 working days. It has now been almost 30. I assume this is just a simple oversight on your part, but I would be grateful for a response at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Whittaker

The last two messages above were set to foia@postoffice.co.uk . This was still listed as a contact address in one place at http://corporate.postoffice.co.uk/access... but a different address information.rights@postoffice.co.uk was also listed there. According to https://twitter.com/PostOffice/status/11... the latter address should now be used. WDTK have now updated the address, so I'm going to try sending the prompt again.
