David made this Freedom of Information request to Frinton and Walton Town Council

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Frinton and Walton Town Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Frinton and Walton Town Council,

Please provide under the freedom of information act.

1)A copy of the post officer contract.
2) report that was produced for the last public town meeting in relation to the post office.

I am finding it very hard to understand why this information is not readily available to the public. Several people have asked for these two pieces of information directly to the Town Clerk and Chairwomen. The town councillors all had both sets of papers at the last council meeting

The website https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/200...

clearly states

Time for compliance with request.
(1)Subject to subsections (2) and (3), a public authority must comply with section 1(1) promptly and in any event not later than the twentieth working day following the date of receipt.

It is a shame that we have to ask an external body like Whatdotheyknow.com to request information be made available. This is a Charity website which I will be happy to donate to.

Yours faithfully,

David

Dear Frinton and Walton Town Council,

thank you for your response. Please can you email the contract and report to me please and I will donate the £10 to the whatdotheyknow.com website

Yours sincerely,

David

Dear Frinton and Walton Town Council,

Please can you provide by email the information requested

The law requires that if you ask for the information to be provided in a particular format the public authority is required to do so, so long as it is as reasonably practicable.

here’s no need to explicitly request a response ‘via email’, though: we consider that by making your request via WhatDoTheyKnow, you are already making this clear.

Yours sincerely,

David

I am taking legal advice about releasing further information given the volume of requests which appear to be orchestrated by one individual. I am also taking advice about harassment and using a false identity when applying. You will know that the FOI Act allows advice not to be released on certain grounds.

Dear Frinton and Walton Town Council,

I find your response quite insulting. To imply that I am being "orchestrated by one individual" I think shows people more about your character than mine.

I have made two requests for information, one of which had been requested before on whatdotheyknow but wasn't answered. So I requested the information myself.

With regard to harassment I am not sure how asking for two information (once for each piece) would qualify as harassment.

I have not disclosed who I am, so again implying that I am using a false identity is a smear on my professionalism.

My requests have been nothing but polite and reasonable.

I look forward to the information being provided regarding my requests

Yours sincerely,

David
