Poole - Self-catering residents in residential care: remuneration
Dear Poole Borough Council,
Please supply any information you hold on the incidence of people living in residential care catering for themselves instead of eating the residential home's food.
Please indicate how the food is funded in such cases; and if such residents are prepayed or reimbursed by the home or the Council for this cost, how much they are given to pay for their food.
Yours faithfully,
Doug Paulley
Dear Mr. Paulley
Thank you for your e-mail dated 23 February 2011 requesting information
under the Freedom of Information Act.
I am able to provide you with the information about residential care home
catering as requested. The information relates to residential care
provision commissioned by Borough of Poole Adult Social Services.
. All residential care homes in which the Borough places people
provide full catering for their residents. Three meals per day are
provided by the homes for their residents.
. We are not aware of any care homes which have self catering
arrangements.
. There may be some homes which provide coffee or tea making
facilities for example, but that is the extent of any `self catering'. We
do not have data on this type of refreshment or snack provision.
. There are no separate payments or reimbursements for food costs,
as food is included in the care home fees structure.
I hope this information about residential care home catering is what you
require. Please contact me again if you require any further assistance on
this matter and I will do my best to provide relevant help and advice.
Please note that whilst FOI and EIR allow access to information, they do
