Policy note 800 (PN 800) [Information Gathering / Contingency Plans]

The request was successful.

Dear London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (London Fire Brigade),

I have visited the London Fire Brigade website to access a copy of Policy Note 800 (PN800) and it was not listed on the documents available at http://www.london-fire.gov.uk/our-polici...
PN800 concerns Information Gathering / Contingency Plans by the London Fire Brigade. It is a very important policy for Premises Risk Assessments. In Southwark, for John Kennedy House in particular, residents have tried to feed information information into information gathering by the London Fire Brigade locally.

REQUEST:
Please can you inform me if Policy Note 800 (PN800) is still current? It was under review in September 2013 and "Collecting and using the best available data" was discussed by the
Strategy Committee on 6 March 2014.
Has Policy Note 800 (PN800) been superseded?
Please can you provide me with a copy of the current Policy Note 800 (PN800) or if it has been superseded then the new document?

This request is in the public interest because it is extremely important that information is also gathered from residents in a tower block who are participants in refurbishment project teams over time and residents associations. In John Kennedy non-combustible fire escape route floor coverings have been replaced with highly combustible acrylic Flowcrete product that melts at c70oC, produces acrid smoke and is a flash over risk. Ventilation has been changed so that fire doors do not close when the wind blows from the north. SGN gas has broken the law by leaving gaps between a gas pipe sleeve and cavity wall structure. Window frames were fitted with B2 foam and with gaps that were covered over with flammable cosmetic trim. And so on. London Fire Brigade can benefit greatly by involving residents in the process of doing Premises Risk Assessments and when trying to gauge the risks of a premises and trying to maximise the safety of residents, visitors, the public and of course fire fighters.

Yours sincerely,
Jerry Hewitt
