Policy Documents
Dear Northern Ireland Policing Board,
Previously on your web site you published F.O.I. reference 03/2020. Amongst other things the requester asked for and received "the policy document for processing and actioning IOD Appeals requiring to be sent to the DOJNI"
1. Could you please provide me with a copy of the equivalent documents that detail :-
(a) The entire ill-health retirement process from application to conclusion.
(b) The entire Retrospective Injury on Duty process Map from application to conclusion.
I have searched for these documents on your publications web site but to no avail. If they are available own you site and I have been unable to locate them I would appreciate you directing me to them.
For information I have also sent your organisation proof of my Identity this morning at 0827
Yours faithfully,

Thank you for your request. We are dealing with this as a routine request rather than formally as a Freedom of Information Act request so we can provide you with a faster and less formal response.
Please find enclosed the process document you refer to. While this document only refers to the PSNI and PSNI Reserve (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006, Police Pensions and Injury Benefits Directorate mirror this process for Ill Health retirement applications made under the Police Pension Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015.
Please note, this doesn’t remove or affect your rights under the Freedom of Information Act. So if you’re unhappy with this reply for any reason please let us know. We will then have a look formally under the Act and send you a formal reply within 20 working days of your original email.
Kind Regards,
Data Protection / Compliance Officer
