Dear Merseyside Police,

(A)The number of police officers that were on duty inside and outside Goodison Park for policing Everton V Liverpool on 23rd November 2013
(B) The name and rank of the most senior police officer that was on charge of policing this match
(C) The number of marked and unmarked Police cars, marked police motorcycles and police vans that were allocated towards policing this fixture
(D) The number of other police officers that were involved in any part of this fixture eg; Air Support unit, traffic officers, dog unit officers etc
(E) The crowd attendance of this match as recorded by the police
(F) A copy of the pre-match,match and post match police report
(G)The recommendations the Police issued to the club regarding opening time for the turnsitles, section reserved for away supporters etc
(H)If its the club, local council or the police that decides what time roads surrounding the staduim are closed off to vehicluar traffic
(I) The number of equipment brought by the police to assist them in policing the fixture eg 25 "No Parking" traffic cones, 150 security barriers etc
(J) The number of persons arrested either inside or immediate outside the staduim with a breakdown of offence (eg 2 persons arrested for ticket touting offences, 1 persons arrested for being drunk and disorderly etc
(K) If the club had any recommendation or suggestions as how many police officers should be in the stand seperating home and away supporters

Response - FOIA Application - DJ 246-13 MERPOL (please quote in all
correspondence)

I write in connection with your request for information dated, 
24/11/2013, which was received by Merseyside Police on 25/11/2013. I note
that you seek access to the following information:

(paraphrased) : Policing at a football match.

 

Following receipt for your request searches were conducted within the
Merseyside Police to locate information relevant to your request. I can
confirm that some of the information that you requested is held by
Merseyside Police.

Extent of searches to locate information.

To locate the information relevant to your request, searches were
conducted in Information Bureau, Force Operational Planning and E, BCU
records. 

 

Result of searches.

The searches located some records relevant to your request.

Decision.

I have today been authorised by the senior decision maker in this case,
Mr. G. Thomas, Disclosure Manager, to:

disclose information related to your requests marked as B, E, & G to K in
full;

and

fully exempt information related to your requests marked A, C, D, & F 
pursuant to the provisions of section 31 & 38, Freedom of Information Act
2000;

 

Your request for information, in relation to the exempt information, has
been considered and the Force is not obliged to supply the information
that you have requested.

 

Section 17, Freedom of Information Act, 2000, requires Merseyside Police,
when refusing to provide such information (because the information is
exempt) to provide you the applicant with a notice which:

(a) states that fact,

(b) specifies the exemption(s) in question and

(c) states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption
applies.

In respect of the requests above, under the duty in section 16 of the Act,
the duty to be helpful, I have provided information, shown as additional
information  which I believe will be of assistance to you.
