Policies and Procedures relating to the securing of EHCP provision in Suffolk.

Suffolk County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Suffolk County Council,

An recent survey of parents of children with Education, Health and Care Plans, conducted by Suffolk Parent, Carers Network, revealed that, for 70% of respondents, the child's EHCP was not being fully implemented. The Council have an absolute duty to secure this provision under section 42 of the Children and Families Act 2014.

Please supply the following information:

documentation that describes the policies and procedures in place for monitoring and enforcing EHCP provision;

the process followed when it is reported (e.g. by the parent or child) that EHCP provision is not in place;

for academic years 2018/2019 & 2019/2020, how many parents/children reported failure to implement, how many cases were investigated, and how many of those investigations required further enforcement action (i.e. some provision was found to be missing).

Yours faithfully,

Steven Wright
