Dear Mr Jenkins,

It has been some time since your request was submitted, and it appears it
has not been processed in line with the Act and responded to as required
under the stated timescales.  For this I sincerely apologise, and
appreciate the frustration this may have caused.  The FOI Team are now
working through all identified requests that have not been answered and
are working to improve this process for the future.

I am writing to you in relation to your FOI request on the Police
Workforce 2016. Section 8(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information Act sets out
the requirements of a valid request for information and says that the
applicant is required to state his or her name.  Technically, therefore a
request submitted using a pseudonym is not a proper request and can be
refused on that ground.  Unfortunately, I believe that the name you have
provided is a pseudonym and until you provide me with your real name and
proof of identification then this will not be treated as a valid Freedom
of Information request.

Therefore, under Section 17(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 this
email acts as a refusal notice from Dorset Police as your request is not
deemed valid. Please note that this request will now be closed. Should you
wish to proceed with your request please submit proof of identification to
this office.

Should you have any questions concerning the above please do not hesitate
to contact the team. Once again may I apologise for the time it has taken
to address your request but please be assured that we are working to
resolve this.

Yours sincerely
