Dear Greater Manchester Police,
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I’d like to make a request regarding cars stopped by the police while driving.
I’d like to request data specific to the areas of Bolton & Manchester separately.
During these time periods:
01/04/2016 - 31/03/2017
01/04/2017 - 31/03/2018
01/04/2018 - 31/03/2019
Specifically, I’d like to request data on how many cars have been stopped while driving by the police. If this could be broken down by vehicle manufacturer, that would be fantastic.
If this could please be provided in a spreadsheet format, that would be ideal. Please feel free to get in touch if you require any clarification from myself!
Further to your recent Freedom of Information Request, please could you clarify the following and/or provide more detailed information in relation to your request:
'When you say 'stopped while driving by the police' what do you mean, do you mean stopped under suspicious circumstances and literally stopped then searched for wanted persons, stolen property, weapons, drugs etc.?
We would not be able to carry out a search on our systems with just the wording 'stopped while driving by the police'.
Please provide specific details with regard to your request.
As a result of seeking this clarification, your request has currently been placed on hold until I hear back from you. If I don't hear from you by 18/12/19 we will assume you no longer wish to continue with your request and it will be cancelled accordingly.
