Dear Police Scotland,

Good morning Mr Montgomery,
Please can you clarify what you mean by "made redundant"? We operate a policy of voluntary redundancy & early retirement schemes.
Your request is on hold until I hear back from you.

NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED
Dear Mr Montgomery,
Thank you for your email.
Please accept my apologies for not directly addressing this part of your
request in our original response.
There have been no compulsory redundancies in Police Scotland and no
redundancies generated where the post has then been filled on a
like-for-like basis by an officer as a result of a gap created purely by a
redundancy.
There have on the other hand been vacancies filled by Police Officers that
have been generated in areas where redundancies have taken place to
support organisational change e.g. in custody, which is routine during
sickness absence etc, but no like for like backfilling.
Please let me know if this answers your query and if you are now happy
with the response.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Nicky
