Police Scotland and Immigration Enforcement

The request was partially successful.

Dear Police Scotland,

I would like to know how the establishment of Police Scotland in 2013 has affected the nature of the operational relationship between the Scottish Police and Home Office Immigration Enforcement.

I would like to know if, since the formation of Police Scotland, there has been in change in:
a) Policy
b)Procedure
c) Practice
with regards to police attendance or assistance during Immigration Enforcement operations?

I would like to know on how many occasions per year from 2008 to the present day have Police Scotland (formerly Strathclyde Police division) attended or assisted Immigration Enforcement officers at Ensured Removal operations (also known as 'dawn raids'). Please provide a breakdown for each year from 2008.

I would like to know under which lawful authority does Police Scotland attend or assist Immigration Enforcement raids.

Was there ever a period in which Strathclyde Police or Police Scotland discontinued their assistance with Immigration Enforcement operations/Ensured Removal operations? If so, please outline when these periods occurred and any reasons for the discontinuation.

Yours faithfully,

Kate Connelly

Dear Police Scotland,

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that I have not received a response to a Freedom of Information request submitted on 26 July 2015. I would like to remind you that you are required by law to respond to such requests promptly and ordinarily within 20 working days. Further, I previously received an email from Police Scotland confirming that they would respond by 21 August 2015. I would be obliged If you could please clarify your receipt of this request and any information as to the reason for the delay in your response.

Yours faithfully,

Kate Connelly

Dear Police Scotland,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Police Scotland's handling of my FOI request 'Police Scotland and Immigration Enforcement'.

This request is now substantially delayed, and I can see no possible justification for such a delay, especially when I have twice received confirmation that the response was being drafted.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/p...

I would be obliged if you could respond to my request for information as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

Kate Connelly
