Police officers convicted of road traffic offences while on duty

Allan Lewis made this Freedom of Information request to Hertfordshire Constabulary

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I commute by car every day from Northwest London to Hatfield, and I regularly see examples of bad driving. Recently, a number of these incidents have involved Hertfordshire Police vehicles.

Please provide data for the most recent 12-month period available regarding the number of serving Hertfordshire officers who have been convicted of road traffic offences while on duty. Please present this data as both absolute numbers and as a percentage of all serving Hertfordshire police officers at the time in question. (The number of serving officers may be approximated to two significant figures if you find this necessary.)

If possible, please provide a breakdown of this data by categories of offences, e.g. speeding, driving without due care and attention, etc.

Yours faithfully,

Allan Lewis.
